Our children's catechism class is on Sundays at 9:15am.
A catechism is a summary of the principles of Christian religion in the form of questions and answers, used for the instruction of Christians. We will be using a catechism derived from the Westminster Shorter Catechism. It is our hope that this class will supplement and support our parents in their leading of their children.
The following are the questions and answers that have been covered so far:

A. God made me (Gen. 1:27-28)
2.Q. Why did God make you?
A. To glorify God and enjoy Him forever (1 Cor. 10:31)
3.Q. What else did God make?
A. God made all things (Gen. 1)
4.Q. Why did God make all things?
A. For his own glory (Rom. 11:36)
5.Q. How can you glorify God?
A. By loving him and obeying him (Micah 6:8)
6.Q. Why should you glorify God?
A. Because he made me and takes care of me (Ps. 117)
7.Q. How many gods are there?
A. There is only one, true God (Is. 45)
8.Q. In how many persons does this one God exist?
A. In three persons (Mt 3:16, 17)
9.Q. Who are they?
A. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (2 Cor 13:14)
10.Q. Who is God?
A. God is a Spirit, and does not have a body like men (John 4:24)
11.Q. Where is God?
A. God is everywhere (Ps 139:7-12)
12.Q. Can you see God?
A. No, but he always sees me (Jer. 23:23-24)
13.Q. Does God know all things?
A. Yes. Nothing can be hidden from God (Prov. 15:3)
14.Q. Can God do all things?
A. Yes. God can do all his holy will (Eph 1:11)
15.Q. Where do you learn how to love and obey God?
A. In the Bible alone (2 Tim 3:15-17).

A. Holy men taught by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:20, 21)
17.Q. Who were our first parents?
A. Adam and Eve (Gen. 3:20)
18.Q. How did God make Adam and Eve?
A. God made the body of Adam from the dust of the ground, and formed Eve from the body of
Adam (Gen. 2:7, 21-23)
19.Q. What did God give Adam and Eve besides bodies?
A. He gave them souls that could never die (Eccl. 12:7)
20.Q. Do you have a soul as well as a body?
A. Yes. I have a soul that can never die (Mt. 16:24-27)
21.Q. How do you know that you have a soul?
A. Because the Bible tells me so (Mt. 16:24-27)
22.Q. What were Adam and Eve like when God made them?
A. God made them holy and happy (Gn 1:26-28)
23.Q. Did Adam and Eve stay holy and happy?
A. No. They sinned against God (Gn 3:1-7)
24.Q. What was the sin of our first parents?
A. Eating the forbidden fruit (Gn 2:16, 17)
25.Q. Why did they eat the forbidden fruit?
A. Because they did not believe what God had said (Gn 3:1-6)
26.Q. Who tempted Adam and Eve to sin?
A. Satan tempted Eve, and she gave the fruit to Adam (Gn 3:1-13)
27.Q. What happened to Adam and Even when they sinned?
A. Instead of being holy and happy, they became sinful and miserable (Gn 3:14-24; 4:1-24)
28.Q. What effect did the sin of Adam have on all mankind?
A. All mankind is born in a state of sin and misery (Rm 5:12, 18-19)
29.Q. What is that sinful nature which we inherit from Adam called?
A. Original sin (Eccl 9:3)
30.Q. What is sin?
A. Lack of conformity to or transgression against God's holy law (1 Jn 3:4)
31.Q. What does lack of conformity mean?
A. Not doing or being what God requires (James 4:17)
32.Q. What does transgression mean?
A. Doing what God forbids (1 Sam. 15:22, 23)
33.Q. What does every sin deserve?
A. The wrath and curse of God (Gal 3:10)
